Erbil, Kurdistan Region (GOV.KRD) – Prime Minister Masrour Barzani spoke by telephone with the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani. They discussed developments in the Kurdistan Region, Qatar, and the wider region.
They both condemned the terrorist attacks targeting the Kurdistan Region and Qatar, and expressed deep concern over the escalations and tensions in the region. They also agreed that outlaw militias pose a serious threat, and that the Iraqi government must bring them under control.
Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Al Thani stressed the importance of preserving peace and stability and taking the threats to the region into account. Prime Minister Barzani reaffirmed the Kurdistan Region’s solidarity with the people of Qatar.
Both sides agreed on the importance of continued communication and coordination in order to overcome current challenges.
