Erbil, Kurdistan Region (GOV.KRD) – Prime Minister Masrour Barzani today received Antti Putkonen, the Ambassador of Finland to Iraq. They discussed strengthening bilateral relations between the Kurdistan Region and Finland.
They also emphasized the importance of reactivating the Kurdistan Parliament as a crucial first step toward forming the new KRG cabinet.
The two sides exchanged views on the outstanding issues between the Kurdistan Region and the federal government of Iraq, stressing the need to respect the constitutional rights of the Kurdistan Region and ensure its financial entitlements.
They also focused on the 2027 federal budget law and the allocation of the Kurdistan Region’s 14% share, in accordance with the officially approved results of the 2024 census of Iraq.
